Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina is inviting the community to come out and enjoy a new lineup of recurring summer events at the waterfront destination. From Texas Hold ’em Poker tournaments and Bike Night to games, workshops and beverage tastings, there’s something for guests of all ages.
August kicks off Slipaway’s Texas Hold ’em Poker Series, with events taking place on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Every event will support fundraising efforts for a local charity and will feature prize drawings and recognition for first, second and third place.
For the more business-minded guests, Slipaway will host its first networking event and business card exchange on Aug. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. with The Networking Beast. The event is free, but registration is required at TheNetworkingBeast.com/Cape-Coral/. Each participant will receive one drink ticket.
Slipaway will also host Bike Night the fourth Saturday of each month from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will feature live music, vendors, contests, a full bar, 10 food trucks and more.
Starting on Sept. 5, Slipaway will begin weekly mat Pilates classes on Saturday morning with different local studios leading the 45-minute class each week. Participating studios include Club Pilates, Drip Pilates, Fuego Pilates, P³ Pilates and Rise Pilates. Tickets are $25 per person and include the class and a mimosa or mocktail.
In addition to these events, Slipaway will offer a variety of ongoing activities to enjoy during the summer:
- Maker’s Monday (every Monday): Each week, a different local artist will lead hands-on creative experiences designed for all skill levels under The Helm. Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time, experimenting with jewelry making, learning collage techniques or exploring a new craft, you’ll leave with a finished piece and a memorable experience. All materials are provided, and prices vary per activity.
- Bingo (every Tuesday): Start your afternoon with bingo from 5 to 6 p.m., featuring three rounds of play and one beverage for $20. Play for prizes and support a different local cause each week. Offered exclusively on Tuesdays, guests can enjoy pitchers of “Marina-ritas,” Slipaway’s special margaritas, made to share for $40 per pitcher.
- Waterfront Wine Club (Last Wednesday of the month): Guests are invited to stroll, sip and savor the night away while enjoying samples of eight wines along with four tapas pairing tables to complement the wine selections. Advance registration is required, and participation is $25 per person.
- Wags on the Water: Dogs’ Day Out (dates vary): Well-behaved four-legged friends can enjoy a waterside day at Slipaway, too. A rotating selection of pup-specific vendors will be onsite selling treats, toys and other accessories from 5 to 8:30 p.m. The first 100 pups will get a complimentary dog treat provided by Bailey’s Beer Biscuits.
- Beer Tasting events (dates and times vary): Guests can sit back and relax with beer tastings at Slipaway. Tastings are $20 and include 3-ounce pours of 10 different beer styles. Complete the tasting passport at your beer tasting and you’ll be entered to win a prize.
